Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2026
These terms govern your use of eddiegear.com ("this site"). By browsing this site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Content ownership
All original text, essays, and writing on this site — including the "Thinking" section and any book excerpts — are the intellectual property of Eddie Gear unless otherwise noted. Book titles referenced on this site (From Grave to Guardian, Silence in Room 307, The World As It Seems) are the author's own work. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to this site; you may not republish full pieces or substantial portions without permission.
2. No professional advice
Content on this site — including essays under "Thinking" and descriptions under "What I work on" — reflects personal opinion and experience. It is not professional, legal, financial, medical, or investment advice, and shouldn't be relied on as such. Any business engagement is governed separately by its own written agreement, not by this site's content.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use this site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its underlying code, or its hosting infrastructure.
- Scrape, republish, or redistribute this site's content at scale without permission (reasonable, good-faith indexing by search engines and AI/answer-engine crawlers that respect robots.txt is fine).
- Introduce malware, spam, or attempt to disrupt the normal operation of the site.
4. Third-party links
This site links to third-party destinations (LinkedIn, book retailers, and others). Those sites are independent and outside this site's control; their availability, content, and practices are their own responsibility.
5. No warranty
This site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or availability. Content marked as "coming soon" or forthcoming is explicitly incomplete and should not be relied upon as a finished record until published.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Eddie Gear is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site.
7. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by the law of your jurisdiction.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@eddiegear.com.
This is a general-purpose terms-of-use template appropriate for a static personal portfolio and author site. It is not a substitute for legal advice — have it reviewed by a qualified professional before relying on it, particularly once the site starts selling books, taking paid engagements directly through it, or collecting user data.
