  • Workbook: feature prioritizer, stack decision, 30-day plan and more
  • Free. You give us an email address, and that’s the whole price

Before you download

It’s free

You give us an email address and we send the files. The marketing emails are optional and separate. You get the download either way.

How you can use it

Use it on your own work and your clients’. Print it and fill it in. Don’t resell it, post it elsewhere or put it inside another product. Send people to this page instead.

What it is, and isn’t

General information, not legal, financial, security or other professional advice. It comes as is, with no warranty and no promised result. The examples and numbers are made up. To the extent the law allows, Eddie Gear isn’t liable for losses from using it. Building and launching a product carries legal, security and financial risk. What’s in the download

A scalable MVP isn’t built for a million users. It just doesn’t box you in later.

The guide

Fourteen steps, 25 pages

Who leads each step, product or builder, is marked throughout. Three worksheets: the one-page brief, the 30-day calendar and the decision log.

The workbook

Let capacity decide

Score features and let your build capacity decide what’s in. Compare four stack approaches against your own weights. Run the 30-day plan with late flags.

Distribution, before the code

Plan the first users

Pick a channel, size your reach, and log every conversation with a possible user. A test you can’t reach anyone for isn’t a test.

Thirty days, four phases

Day 30 is a decision, not a celebration. Continue, adjust, pivot or stop.

  • Define, days 1 to 5
  • Scope and design, days 6 to 10
  • Build, days 11 to 24
  • Launch, days 25 to 30

How it works

  1. Define (days 1 to 5)

One assumption to test. One user. A success test written down before you build.

  2. Scope and design (days 6 to 10)

A scored feature list, a not-now list, and five screens.

  3. Build (days 11 to 24)

A live product on a real domain, instrumented, with the core flow solid.

  4. Launch (days 25 to 30)

First users in, the test running, and a decision date.

Who it’s for, and who it isn’t

For you if

Founders, and the developers or no-code builders who work with them, who want to test an idea in a month.

Not for you if

You’re building the full version one. Five months of work with nobody shown isn’t a minimum anything.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. You give us an email address and we send you the files. If you tick the box, we’ll also send you an email now and then. If you don’t tick it, you still get the files.

Do I need to code?

No. The guide covers no-code, low-code and custom code, with a framework for choosing and example stacks for four product types.

Is thirty days realistic?

It assumes one focused builder and a founder who gives it several hours a day. Part-time? Double the calendar. Don’t double the scope.

Can I use it with clients?

Yes. Use it on your own work and on your clients’. Please don’t resell it or post it elsewhere. Send people to this page instead.

How do I print it?

The download includes a print-friendly version. It’s designed for US Letter paper. On A4, choose “Fit to page.”

What do you do with my email?

We send you the files. If you ticked the box, we also send occasional emails about articles, new free resources and any paid products. You can unsubscribe from any email. The details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is this professional advice?

No. It’s general information and education. It isn’t legal, financial, security or other professional advice, and it comes with no warranty and no promised result. Check anything important against your own situation.

Are the examples real?

No. The names, numbers and scenarios marked illustrative or composite are made up to show how it works. They aren’t benchmarks, and they aren’t anyone’s results.

Who made this?

Eddie Gear. It’s drawn from years of hands-on experience, and it names no clients, on purpose.

Start day one with one assumption.
